Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce in the United Kingdom is pleased to invite you to the traditional 4th annual golf tournament “Ambassador’s Cup 2010”
The Tournament will take place at The Royal Blackheath Golf Club, London (www.royalblackheath.com), the oldest club in the world, on Friday, 9th of April 2010 at 1.00 pm.
Proud of their history and long tradition, in 2008 the Royal Blackheath Golf Club celebrated 400 years of the Blackheath Goffer. And indeed, no less an authority than Bernard Darwin, grandson of Charles Darwin, golf correspondent of The Times for 46 years, past Captain of the Royal & Ancient and the most revered of all golf writers, began his introduction to a guide to the Club published in the 1940s with the following words:
"The Royal Blackheath Golf Club, as all the world knows, is the oldest golf club in the world."
So, the Ambassador‘s Cup 2010 will not only give you an opportunity to attend a traditional event, where you‘ll meet
golfers, well-known people and businessmen/women from UK and Lithuania, but also to compete in the course, recognised as a place for the oldest medal in golf, and a host of the earliest known Open competition.
The tournament will be followed by a dinner and the
awarding ceremony.
